The Rec Center offers many programs for all ages, listed in a brochure distributed widely four times yearly.
Programs for seniors include: chair yoga, Zumba gold, Fit 4 Life.
Other programs often include dog obedience, ceramics, mah jong, knit & crochet, painting, writing, yoga, tai chai, bingo nights. The Rec Center also organizes trips to cultural events and areas of interest.

Classes / Activities: Bingo, cards, billiards, Wii bowling, Beginners and Advanced Zumba, Mahjong, Yoga, Tai Chi, The Tight Knit Club, Art with Elizabeth, Line Dancing, Sharing Stories, Crafts with Kelly, “Out of the Blue” Pen Pal program.
The Center offers a nutritional lunch every day at 12:00 p.m. (come earlier) for a suggested donation of $2.50.
In addition, the Center offers monitored groups exploring brain fitness, offering caregivers support and providing general conversation over coffee.
Homebound individuals can receive Meals on Wheels, as well as Outreach Support.
The county RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) program arranges for vetted volunteers to drive residents to medical appointments. Call Kathleen at (845) 808-1705 to schedule a ride.
Blood pressure clinic is offered once a month.

The Senior Group is a non profit association, purposed to promote sociability and culture among its members and to keep seniors physically, mentally alert and politically aware of community issues affecting seniors. Open to any resident of Philipstown over 60 years of age. Meets on the first Thursday of each month in the Community Room at the Chestnut Ridge apartment complex.
