Members of the PAAH Board are devastated by the recent death of our friend and colleague, Barry Robert Skura.
Barry lived a life of service to others as a teacher, a labor organizer and as a health administrator and advocate in NYC government. To us at PAAH, he was a warm and willing volunteer, a witty and intelligent contributor of ideas and solutions and a dear friend.
An ardent disciple of nature, Barry was an experienced hiker and backpacker who led excursions across the US as well as abroad. Lured by the trails in or near Philipstown, he and his wife, Kathy, moved to Cold Spring after retirement in 2015.
Barry is survived by Kathy, his stepchildren and grandchildren and a wealth of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly.
