Death Café at Desmond Fish Library

A death….café? What in the world is that?

A Death Café part of a worldwide movement to promote open discussion of death, dying, and mourning (more than 17,000 death cafés have been held worldwide since the idea’s inception in 2011). This takes place in a welcoming, communal environment, as a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session, meant to create time to discuss death and its attendant issues without expectations or judgments.

In Death Café tradition, refreshments will be provided!

This death café is facilitated by Digital Services Librarian Ryan Biracree. In addition to library work, Ryan has been trained as a death doula and Death Café facilitator.

This is a free program, but we ask that you register in advance, below. Thank you!
