Improve Nursing Home Oversight

We saw the tragedy that played out in New York’s nursing homes during the pandemic. We know improved oversight is needed, yet New York’s Long Term Care Ombudsman Program (LTCOP) remains woefully underfunded.

This program can play a significant role in raising the level of care provided by long-term care facilities in our state and assuring that every resident is treated with the dignity that they deserve. But it needs adequate funding to do so.

Please take a moment to urge the Governor and your state legislators to increase funding for the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program in the upcoming state budget.
