Your Story: Butterfield Library's Young Campers are Interested!

Updated: May 16

Every summer, Butterfield Library has a week-long camp for local kids. This year's summer reading theme is "All Together Now."

As part of the camp, Butterfield Library is planning an intergenerational storytelling event, where every child interviews a senior about his or her life.

Butterfield is seeking seniors, in or out of the PAAH memoir writing class, who may be interested in being interviewed. The interview event will take place on Tuesday, July 11th from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the main room of the library. The library may record the interviews for Storycorps (https://storycorps.org/), a nonprofit whose mission is to record, preserve, and share the stories of Americans from all backgrounds and beliefs.

The library could also record everyone for a new Butterfield Library podcast in the works. The recording aspect is completely optional, so you can still take part in the storytelling, even if you do not wish to be recorded.

If you are interested, please send an email to Philipstown Aging At Home at info@paah.net with your contact information (email address and telephone number) and availability on Tuesday, July 11, between 9:30 and 11:00 a.m.

Thank you for being a memorable part of a child's summer camp experience, and a part of our local story.
