In more than 200 communities across the country, the “village” concept is helping to meet the concerns of those who want to age at home. How it works: A community organizes a nonprofit membership group – a village – that matches member needs to member volunteers willing to meet those needs.

A group of Philipstown residents is working to follow this model and provide services based on the expressed needs of our senior community. Philipstown Aging At Home is an incorporated

nonprofit organization hoping to grow a large Philipstown membership of seniors as well as others wishing to help.

We list on this site many of the government and nonprofit organizations that provide services to seniors. But there are limitations that leave gaps between what they offer and what seniors may need. A mutual support group such as PAAH gives the opportunity to express those needs and to meet them.

The goal of PAAH is to create a network of volunteers that will provide transportation, organize educational and cultural events, make referrals to local services, provide small home repairs and services, organize lunch groups or card game groups or any kind of socializing its members can think up. Join us.
